NFL Combine / Pro-Day Training
"When I was preparing for the biggest day of my athletic career, I turned to Todd Norman and Cutting Edge Sports Training. They prepared me to perform at my best and I recommend them to any athlete interested in attaining their peak physical performance."
Mark Sanchez, QB - New York Jets 5th Overall Selection, 2009 NFL Draft
For professional football hopefulls who get invited to the annual NFL Combine or have scheduled workouts with NFL scouts (Pro Days) and/or scouting camps, Cutting Edge Sports Training has an intense training program to prepare you for these events. Again, you must train specifically for these "job interviews" as you are being critically evaluated on your ability to run, jump, and change directions. Players and agents are encouraged to utilize our services as many athletes workout hard after college to prepare for these combines but don't train properly for the specific tests they will be evaluated on. Not only do we prepare you for these specific tests, we specialize your program to maximize your individual needs. Six to twelve weeks at our Southern California training center can make the difference in draft selection and thousands of dollars. We have a nutritionist and chiropractor/Active Release Provider on-site as well as local networks with massage th erepists, physical therapists, and orthopedic physicians to handle all medical and sports medicine related issues.
Our typical 6-Day/Wk training schedule includes "double-day" training sessions. Morning sessions involve intense workouts for speed, plyometrics, agility, technique training, and conditioning. Afternoon/evening sessions include specialized core, strength and power training, corrective exercise and regeneration modalities. Please contact Todd Norman direct for more information.

Cutting
Edge Sports Training is also an
exclusive training partner, preparation facility
and staff provider to Elite Pro Football National
Combines www.combines.com
which offers regional combines to free agents
in May/June that are heavily scouted by the AFL,
CFL, and the NFL. This is another option
for athletes who haven't been noticed, missed
their pro day, or haven't played for a year and
want to get another shot. Athletes who meet
qualifying standards are invited to participate
in the Elite Combine in the RCA Dome in Indianapolis
in June. For more information and/or to
register, please visit the website.
Every
year there are numerous college sponsored camps
and Nike combines around the country for high
school football. At these clinics, athletes
are tested in various aspects of speed, agility,
explosive power and strength. Most of these
clinics are swarming with college scouts who are
looking for new recruits. Thus, these clinics
can be a great way to get noticed and put on a
recruiting list. However, if you participate
in one of these clinics you better be ready to
perform. You will be tested in your
40-yard dash, short shuttle, vertical jump, and
a 3kg Medicine Ball Power Toss. In order
to ensure you best performance, you must prepare
specifically for these tests with professionals
who know how to maximize your results.
Cutting
Edge Sports Training is one of the few select
facilities in Southern California that is a Certified
Nike SPARQ Testing Center. Any
high school athlete who is tested at Cutting Edge
receives a certified score that is submitted to
Nike and will be assigned a SPARQ ranking,
which is a calculated rank based on the sum of
their scores for the various testing categories.
This ranking can be utilized to enter the athlete
in the annual Nike Speed Challenge
held at USC in July, and can also be used to compare
their ranking against those around the country
who have tested at the Nike Combines.
In addition
to testing athletes, Cutting Edge Sports Training
has a specific program designed to educate and
train football players to prepare for these tests.
Thus, we have prepared numerous athletes for these
combines who have been offered big-time Division
1 scholarships immediately after the combines.
Hard core training is one component, but the other
is technique. We will teach you the best
stance for the 40-yard dash, how to maximize the
critical first 10 yards and utilize optimal mechancs
through the finish line. For the pro-agility,
there are many critical areas athletes take false
steps or perform wasted movements. We will
correct these problems and most likely make significant
reductions in your time. We will teach you
how to gain maximal height in the vertical jump
and how to gain several extra repetitions in the
bench press test, just by technique alone.
Just
signing up and going to these camps is a mistake,
you must prepare and have a plan. If you
are successful, you may earn yourself a scholarship
worth thousands of dollars.
