Are You Reaching Your Goals?

Too often athletes fall short of their competitive goals because
they fail to maximally prepare physically and mentally for
their sport. This usually results from not following a specific
program designed for their individual needs. Many athletes
follow generalized programs designed for body building or general
fitness that fail to recognize sport-specific movements, energy
systems, positional differences, injuries, and mental strategies
required for peak performance.
In order to maximize athletic performance, athletes must participate in a highly
structured program that is designed and supervised by an experienced professional.
This program must also be individualized to meet the specific needs and goals
of the athlete. Furthermore, training should take place in a unique environment
designed to meet the specialized requirements for serious sports training. Likewise,
The Cutting Edge is a specialized training company for serious athletes that
integrates advanced equipment, specialized training protocols, outstanding service, and
professional guidance and supervision.
Once individual strengths and weaknesses are identified through a specialized
performance evaluation, Todd and/or his staff design a specific program to correct
imbalances that may inhibit performance or predispose an athlete to future injuries.
Most of this corrective training will include targeting the joints and working
outward from the core. Once the athlete achieves the proper balance and base
level conditioning, advanced training methods are incorporated to maximize functional
and sport-specific performance.
The Cutting Edge's physical
training methods focus on core strength and stabilization,
balance, functional strength and power, running
speed and acceleration, agility, reaction, and sport-specific
conditioning. A variety of exercises and programs
are utilized to achieve optimal gains in the quickest
time possible. Athletes who train with The
Cutting Edge will work with medicine
balls, stability balls, balance boards, Olympic
lifting, weight training, plyometrics, form-running
drills, resistance and overspeed sprint cords, weight
vests, pulling sleds, high-speed treadmill training,
cone and hurdle drills, agility ladders, sand training,
and whatever else it takes to maximize one's performance.
