Mental Skills Training

Being in great physical shape is only one component of maximizing athletic performance. The other component that highly dictates one's success is mental preparation. The athlete's ability to set proper goals, maintain focus and concentration during stressful situations, build confidence, and control anxiety are some of the areas that are enhanced with proper mental skills training.

Many athletes and coaches blame poor performances on things such as the inability to stay focused during competition or poor mental preparation. Likewise, many athletes will describe mental skills such as toughness, determination, heart, confidence, etc. as the most important requirements of a great athlete.
