FAQs

How long are the training sessions?

Training sessions are 60, 90, or 120 minutes in duration which is dependent on the type of program you are on.  Our basic speed and agility program and/or strength program is 3 times per week for 60 minutes.  A more comprehensive program including speed, agility, and strength training are 90 minute sessions 3 times per week.  We also offer an advanced program that includes 90 minute sessions 4 times per week.  The most comprehensive and "Cutting Edge" training we offer are 120 minute sessions 4 times per week, which are designed for the serious athlete who wants to maximize every aspect of their abilitiy.  Our Youth Development program for athletes 10-14 years of age can be 60 minute sessions 2 to 3 times per week and even up to 90 minute sessions in the summer time when there is no school.

Are the training sessions done privately or in groups?

The Cutting Edge believes specialized training should be provided in an exclusive, privately supervised environment.  Likewise, most of the training at The Cutting Edge is done in private, one-on-one sessions.  We do offer small group training of up to 4 athletes but they must be from the same sport and level and wanting the same type of training.  Some athletes need to focus more on strength, while others foot speed and agility.  Some may need more of a mult-directional emphasis in their training program while others may require greater focus on linear speed training.  Therefore, group training is good if you can find partners who need to work on the same things but for those who have specialized needs and desire on-on-one attention, private training is the best way to go.

Will I have the same trainer every session?

At The Cutting Edge, you will train with the same trainer each and every session.  We feel this is important for the best supervision and progress of the program.  When an athlete works with the same trainer each time the overall outcome of the training and the communication between the trainer and athlete is greatly benefited.   Having one trainer also allows the trainer to stay tuned in on the athletes specific strengths and weaknesses that can fluctuate from time to time.  Only in situations where there is a scheduling conflict will an athlete work with a different trainer.  However, The Cutting Edge is so well organized that the training will not fluctuate greatly from trainer to trainer.

How much does it cost to train at The Cutting Edge?

It depends on what type of program you do as far as the number of sessions per week and the duration of each session.  We can't quote a price until we know what your individual needs are, how often you want to train, and how long you will be working with us.  Also, although private training is usually the best way to go, group training is still very good and is much more affordable.  We try to make the training available to everyone possible and we even allow for payment plans when requested.

What results can I expect and how quick will I notice them?

The Cutting Edge has the ability to enhance every athletes quickness, speed, power, strength, flexibility, balance, and conditioning.  Your individual results will be dependent on how often you train with us and the duration of your sessions.  The more time we have to work with you the more results we will get.   Your individual genetics and commitment to training will also play a factor, as well as rest and nutrition.   Therefore, we can't place guarantees on what you will achieve but we do promise to do everything we can to maximize your potential.   You will notice every session that you are getting better.

Do different trainers provide different programs?

All trainers at The Cutting Edge are taught to implement the programs that Todd Norman has spent years developing with great success.  Thus, we are all pretty much doing the same thing.  However, Todd hires only trainers who are well educated and certified at the highest level to train athletes.  Therefore, we all have certain unique ways of training athletes but the foundation of our training is consistent throughout the staff.  Our goal is to  work together as a team to develop and implement new and better training protocols on a daily basis.

How do I get started?

Call The Cutting Edge to set up an appointment to meet with a trainer.  We will provide a free consultation to discuss your individual needs and determine what type of training program you should encounter and where you should start.  We will also perform a specialized performance evaluation to help identify your strengths and weaknesses and track your progress.
